Linen and satin. The hits of the coming summer and essential basics for seasons to come

We are growing. We started with a serious challenge - fashionable, comfortable and sexy lingerie - then added swimwear, and now we have raised the bar even higher and started creating clothing. Here are a few new, yet already tried-and-tested pieces that we are proud to send out into the world. They all draw on trends - not fleeting ones, but those that are here to stay.

The satin slip dress - the hottest must-have of the season

In the mid-'90s, a small revolution took place in women's fashion. The satin slip stopped being lingerie and became a sexy summer dress. The designers' idea (such dresses appeared in collections by Prada, Versace and Calvin Klein, among others) was first picked up by the top models of the day (Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell) and by music and film stars (Courtney Love, Winona Ryder, Sarah Jessica Parker and Drew Barrymore), who took slip dresses onto the streets - and soon the whole world was wearing them. Later, as tends to happen in fashion, satin dresses faded into the background, but in summer 2023 they made a comeback. They have delicate spaghetti straps, they are made from glossy satin that feels cool to the touch and skims the figure, and as always they turn up the feminine allure. We were won over by their lingerie heritage. We decided to give you a 2-in-1: a dress that can still double as a slip whenever you want to feel as if you were in an elegant boudoir. Take a look at our Jenny and Jenny Beige. The world's top designers are championing dresses with thin straps this season, but you don't have to hunt for them in Paris or Milan. We make ours right here in Poland, and we guarantee you will be crazy about them. These are simple, elegant slip-on dresses in the colours women reach for most often - black, red and off-white. Why has the slip dress, a symbol of the '90s, come back? It is not just about its timeless charm, but also about how incredibly versatile it is - whether you plan to wear it as the base of an outfit or on its own. Given its minimalist character, it suits every occasion - from a wedding to a get-together in the great outdoors. You will find the Jenny dress here. For every day, pair it with an oversized jumper or a leather biker jacket, or wear it over a T-shirt. For an evening out, a little jewellery won't hurt, such as long earrings. The satin slip dress is easy to style, so it works with both high heels and flat sandals, and with the baguette bag that is back in favour or a large raffia basket. What has made them iconic? Women all over the world love the combination of a bold colour and a simple cut... which is probably why they are flying off the shelves. And because satin is timeless and versatile, don't bury your dress at the back of the wardrobe when summer ends. Let it be your evening outfit - you are guaranteed to stand out. Besides, given how often slip dresses appear in the shows of the biggest designers, we predict they will stay on trend for more than one season. You won't find anything that better defines modern sensuality with a dash of nonchalance, nothing in which a woman could look more seductive. Quite simply, a satin slip makes us feel good in our own bodies. However, if you are looking for a classic outfit that works for, say, a business event where we need to cover up a little more, we recommend the Iris dress. Like Jenny, it flatters feminine assets by focusing on areas such as the shoulders and neckline, but it does so in a more subtle way.

Summer doesn't count without linen

Linen is one of our favourite summer fabrics, because nothing combines a distinctive texture with breathability quite so beautifully. It also works at any time of day or night, from nightwear to dresses, shorts and shirts worn both to work and on holiday adventures. There is no better trick for a scorching day than linen served up in a comfortable streetwear style, such as a linen shirt with wide-leg shorts or trousers. A versatile choice is our Dune shirt, in black or in a gorgeous lavender colour. When the temperature hits 30°C, be sure to try styling it with a cropped top or a bikini top underneath - and if you don't have to, leave the buttons undone. We pair a linen shirt with trousers of any cut. What matters is that you feel good. Our personal pick for summer is a playsuit, an ‘all-in-one’ outfit that needs no fussing in front of the mirror. The charming powder pink, lavender or black Layla playsuit will make your life easier. Pair it with sliders or sandals and your outfit is ready. That is exactly why we love it... Surely no one needs convincing of the benefits of simple, airy shorts made from natural linen. Our Diune shorts have an elasticated waist, which makes them even more practical, and they come in lavender and black, so finding a top to match shouldn't be a problem. You can reach for a plain or patterned top, in linen or cotton, woven or knitted.

Stylists say that, given their many advantages, linen outfits are a summer wardrobe must. After all, linen doesn't just look great. Linen fibres are strong yet hollow inside, which lets air circulate freely and keeps the fabric light. It is the perfect breathable fabric for a hot day, absorbing water or sweat from the skin and then drying quickly. And most importantly, linen gets softer with every wash. Creasing is also one of its natural traits. You could say linen is famous for creasing a lot as you wear it! But that only adds to its charm. Linen has character. It makes an outfit look interesting. There is no need to worry about a crease here or there. Let's take a leaf out of Italian women's book - they don't mind crumpled trousers or a creased dress and wear them proudly from dawn till night. Don't stress about washing linen either. Some linen pieces can go in the washing machine, but always check the care label first. Too high a temperature can make a garment shrink. It is best to wash linen with a mild detergent in lukewarm water. Choose a delicates programme and dry it naturally (not in a tumble dryer), either hung up or laid flat on a towel. Experts recommend ironing linen at a high temperature with an iron or a steamer - that way you are sure to get rid of even the most stubborn creases. There are also a few alternative ways to deal with creases. For example, you can dampen a linen piece and dry it with a hairdryer. You can also hang it in the bathroom and let the steam from a hot shower do the job for you. Remember, though, that 100% linen can shrink by about 4% after its first steaming.

Useful basics and pieces worth your attention, not just this season

Minimalism is just beginning its triumphant return, so it is time for simple cuts and basic colours. Responding to trends, but also to the needs of our customers, we have made a few pieces that will help you create stylish outfits this season and in seasons to come. As always, we have tried to make them as versatile as possible. The Charlotte corset-style tops, in black and in semi-sheer, can be worn as bras or as tops. In the latter role, they work well with a miniskirt or trousers, especially for evening. We suggest head-to-toe black: a top with the wide-leg satin Remy trousers or the Celeste trousers with a narrower straight leg. For skirt lovers, we have the black Karen mini or the black fitted Ann midi. And for satin fans, we suggest swapping the corset top for the short black Akiva top with delicate spaghetti straps, or the longer, looser Denise. A contrasting look with the white Denise top and black bottoms will also look great.

Made from a knit that hugs the figure, it is a style that, contrary to appearances, is very forgiving of figure imperfections. And if you feel a little short on confidence at first, you can pair it with a roomy blazer, an oversized waistcoat or a cardigan. The black and white knit is easy to pair with any short or longer jacket or blazer, and you can dial up the look even further with rock-chic or minimalist jewellery.
