How do you choose this summer's most fashionable swimsuit?
This season's key beachwear trends flatter every figure. Whether bikinis or one-piece swimsuits, they're both sexy and practical
They say you can only truly feel summer on the beach, wearing a swimsuit. We always choose one with our longed-for holiday and carefree days by the sea in mind. That's probably why we wouldn't set off on a summer weekend away without a fashionable swimsuit, let alone a proper holiday... So what should you pack this year? There are plenty of options. Of course, Love and Hate has its finger on the pulse, and whether your swimsuit is a one-piece or a two-piece, you'll be proud to wear it on holiday in fashion-forward Ibiza, on the Baltic coast, in Greece or on the hot sands of Zanzibar. But before we dive into the world of trends for the 2022 season with you, we must stress that we've taken care of every woman's figure. Swimwear is no longer designed only for women who wear a size XS - there are now so many options that women in larger sizes, L, XL and XXL, can look stunning too, and whether sunbathing or swimming, they don't have to keep checking that their breasts and all the ties are in place. Nor do you need to worry that a wet swimsuit will turn see-through and reveal what you'd rather keep hidden - our swimsuits have 2 layers. Fashion goes hand in hand with comfort, and that's how it should be!

Animal print swimsuits
In beachwear, this trend never really goes out of date. Last summer was all about cheetah spots, and now we're seeing python and zebra print rise in popularity. Our pick for the hit of the season is zebra print swimwear (the Zebra bikini), although wild cat styles (the Panther bikini) and snake print (Maui Animal) aren't far behind and have plenty of fans. Sexy swimsuits made from animal print fabrics aren't just a designer favourite - most of our customers dream of them too. Who knows, perhaps they help women connect with their wild side? One thing is certain, though - the bottoms of these bikinis flatter the figure by visually lengthening the legs, while the triangle tops have pockets in the cups for pads that turn them into push-ups.
Thong bikinis
Take a look at two-piece swimsuits and you'll see that thong bottoms rule the catwalks. Some may find them too daring for a family holiday, with their deep cuts, but will you find a better style for the perfect summer tan or a date on the beach? All the big brands have introduced thong bikinis this season, and you'll find them with us too. Take a look at the Lizzy, Kawai, Fiji, Glamour, Maui, Samoa and Sadie bikinis. Want an even tan? Choose a thong with distinctive cut-outs!

Halterneck
One of the hottest ties of the season. Not everyone remembers that it was made famous by none other than Marilyn Monroe. It featured on, among others, her famous white dress from ‘The Seven Year Itch’. You'll find our halterneck in the classic black Morea one-piece swimsuit. Its elegantly cut top is held up by a delicate thin strap that ties at the neck, while at the back the swimsuit is deeply cut and sits beautifully on the back. A classic full of timeless chic that will look perfect on every figure.
Strapless tops
Lovers of minimalism finally have a swimsuit of their own. It's the bandeau bikini. What's more, this top style is ideal for women with a slightly smaller bust, as it creates the illusion of fuller curves. It also stays put brilliantly and is sexy in its own subtle way, especially when paired with high-cut, high-waisted bottoms. This simple combination looks truly modern and is anything but boring. Its neutrality is an added bonus, as it makes a great backdrop for summer looks while sunbathing, and a black bandeau under a classic blazer with wide-leg trousers is this summer's perfect fashion pairing. So be sure to take a look at our range - we offer a wide choice of swimsuits made from high-quality fabrics. Choose from the Kawai bandeau swimsuits in black, red and white, or Glamour, Praia Nude, Maui Off White or Kawai Nude.

Plunging V-necklines
And now for the opposite of the previous trend, which tended to cover up the neckline: one-piece swimsuits with a deep V-neck. It's this plunging cut that turns a plain, simple swimsuit into sensual beachwear. It's the right swimsuit if you want a lovely tan on your front. We've picked up on this trend in the Aruba Beige, Aruba, Ocean Black, Ocean and Constellacion styles. The last of these also works for fuller figures, even in size XXL, and for women with a larger bust. You'll also be pleased to hear that this cut will soon be available in more colours.
Decorative cut-outs
The fashion for oval cut-outs has made its way into swimwear from the catwalks, where dresses with symmetrical cut-outs under the bust or at the hips were crowned the hit of the season. Bikinis with cut-outs in unexpected places have appeared before, but now they're back for good. This trend was one of the most popular at Miami Swim Week, where Emilio Pucci, for example, showed bikinis with cut-outs below the band of the top. We've put our own spin on cut-outs in the Dakota styles, in nude and patterned versions.

Criss-cross straps and ties
Tie bikinis are nothing new, but this season two-piece swimsuits have had a modern update in the form of simple straps that can be wrapped around the waist, hips or chest. Extra-long straps, including wider ones, let you style the top in different ways. This trend invites you to get creative and experiment with how many ways you can wear one and the same top. For those who love playing with how they style their swimwear, we have a few suggestions: the patterned Maui, the black Maura, and the nude Maura and Fiji.
Ruching
Some say there would be no fashion without ruching. And it certainly has many advantages, and not just when it comes to clothes. This season, ruching has taken over swimwear too. Brands such as Isabel Marant and Missoni have shown ruched bikinis. Notice how beautifully they shape the bust and flatter every figure! We've also created beach styles in ruched fabric: the nude Maura has a ruched top and bottoms, while Lizzy, Maui and Fiji have ruched tops.

The corset-style top
Tops with a classic lingerie construction are a nod to vintage-style designs. This season, these tops, which offer great support even for a large bust, are also undeniably on trend. Because with us you don't have to buy a set and can mix and match swimsuit tops and bottoms yourself, fans of a more conservative style can pair an underwired top with traditional full-coverage bottoms, while bolder women can go for deep-cut bottoms. Our corset-style tops are the black Kawai and Kawai Red.
High-waisted bottoms
This trend has been with us for a while now and looks set to stay. Why? Women love it because high-waisted bottoms slim the figure and define a narrow waist. Remember that with us, you can buy different bottoms to suit different body shapes. Choose between styles: full-coverage bottoms or thongs, high-waisted or high-cut, tie-side, lace-up at the sides or strappy. You can pair one top with three different bottoms, or the other way round. It all depends on your imagination.

Swimwear - towards responsible fashion
Sustainability is a powerful trend that is sweeping the fashion world, beachwear included, and it keeps gaining ground, even though just 10 years ago hardly anyone had heard of it. Now, however, both manufacturers and customers are certain that Mother Earth can only benefit from it. Love and Hate feels the same way. All our swimwear is sewn in small family-run workshops in Łódź. It's made by a small, close-knit team of women who put their whole heart into every piece they make. We also make sure that the Italian fabrics we choose for you are eco-friendly. A growing share of them are recycled materials that are OEKO-TEX® certified and made from recycled polyamide (78%) and elastane.
