Caring for velvet

If you've decided to add velvet lingerie to your collection, you need to look after it properly - a luxurious fabric needs special treatment. Above all, stick to hand washing at a low temperature - velvet doesn't like the washing machine or high temperatures. To enjoy your velvet lingerie for as long as possible, skip the fabric conditioner - the chemicals get into the delicate velvet fibres and can leave your lingerie less soft. Velvet also tends to ‘catch’ tiny threads from other fabrics you wear over it. That's why we recommend brushing velvet with a soft clothes brush.
